Effective date: 13 May 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Money Split ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Eligibility

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must notify us immediately at legal@moneysplit.app if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
Each person may maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits or restrictions is prohibited.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
- Transmit any harmful, offensive, or fraudulent content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
- Conduct automated scraping, crawling, or data extraction without our prior written consent.
- Use the Service to process illegal transactions or to facilitate fraud.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these acceptable use terms without prior notice.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of any data you submit to the Service (expense records, group names, notes, etc.). By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you and your group members.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you submit. We are not responsible for content submitted by users.
6. Financial Data Disclaimer
Money Split is a personal expense-tracking tool. It is not a financial institution, payment processor, or regulated financial service.
The balance calculations and debt-simplification features are provided as a convenience only. We make no representations as to their accuracy for legal, accounting, or tax purposes. You should not rely on Money Split for legally binding financial records.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including the software, design, text, and graphics — are owned by Money Split and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written permission.
8. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability of the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control, without liability to you.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Account deletion is permanent and all associated data will be removed.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion if you breach these Terms, without prior notice and without liability.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Money Split and its affiliates, officers, and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (if any), or USD 100, whichever is greater.
